On February 28th 2009, the producers of Favor will be hosting a small concert entitled Favor on D Farm at D Paddock at Green Street Shopping Center in Arima.
If you went to Favor: The Benefit Concert in September 2007, you would remember an exciting concert with an international look to its stage. The mastermind behind the show? Who would have guessed that it was a teen/young adult who spearheaded it all?
Esther James, the promoter of Favor, and now Favor on D Farm, is now in her early twenties and describes herself as shy. Shy, she says. With a Facebook profile that boasts nearly 900 friends, including Gospel artistes from around the region, the description is somewhat surprising. What’s even more amazing is that she knows every person on the list – and many more.
Our “shy” young impresario is now preparing to host an exciting night of spirit-filled gospel music, poetry and sharing.
Favor on D Farm looks to be a great night. So far, j Square and Shiselon have already been confirmed on the cast, and more names are to come. Esther mentioned some popular names in gospel music that should also be slated to be there, but chose to not release them as yet.
“...not just yet,” was her cool reply when asked about mentioning them. One wonders if this is really a young lady in her early twenties, or a seasoned promoter.
What she’ll say though, is that you’ll get the best of latest gospel music, poetry, and the Word of God, in a cool atmosphere of sharing. This set in a warm and comfortable environment.
After a visit to the scene, even this writer was excited about what the concert will bring. The location is beautiful, with seating and dancing space, lovely decor, and aptly positioned drinks and food bars.
For Esther though, the best part is being able to do this in her Borough.
“It’s long overdue for a concert to come to Arima” she stated. She’s proud of her Mayor and the Borough, along with her parents, the pastoral leaders of God’s Word Outreach Center also in Arima, who are intent on having a positive impact on the community.
February 28th will definitely be a night to be in Arima. At $40 at the door for entry, it’s going to be a great deal. You don’t have to ask – Gospel Globe will be there!
