Germine Sealy aka DJ Grace is a St. Lucian Gospel DJ who has been sharing his passion for gospel music through releasing mixtapes for at least five years.
“I've been doing mixtapes since 2006 or 2007. I remember the very first one I did called The Gospel Alliance Mixtape featuring Emrand Henry. That [one] featured only Emrand's tracks. Those that were released and those you can call exclusives up to this day” Sealy recounts.
For years they’ve been hosted on various sites for download, but from now, you can get his mixtapes for free download at GospelGlobe.com.
Of the reason to introduce his music to Gospel Globe, he says that he wants to increase the amount of outlets that are being used to spread the music.
This latest mixtape in particular is unique, as it has more ‘cover songs’ and has a better mix of Caribbean genres of music including dancehall, reggae and soca.
Sealy described the purpose for the title of the project succinctly as meaning to break free.
“We can look at it in two parts. the first part with how we react to music. We dance. The other hand however. Which is more important. By the gospel going out to the masses through song. I pray that salvation, healing, restoration, hope, etc will reach someone.”
