As Christians and compassionate people, we need to strongly amass our support for the people of Haiti. Consider, in whichever country you may live, what it would be like to see all around you totally destroyed, and after suffering from previous catastrophes, you lose your home, family members, and those close to you.
At the time of penning this article, everyone the world over should know about the 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti on Tuesday, and the widespread death and devastation. The effects of that disaster were catastrophic, with thousands dead, and families being cut off from each other, which includes the families of those international aid community, who went to Haiti to help with relief efforts from the numerous other problems that plague the nation. Many different agencies are assembling support for Haiti, and no matter where you are, and what little resources you have, you can also support.

Is There Not A Cause has been undertaking significant work in Haiti for the last few years, and we in Gospel Globe encourage you to support their work. If you are in Trinidad, they have numbers which you can call to contact them, to give your support.
As people of God, we must turn to Him for guidance and assistance. Haiti has suffered significantly, especially in recent, years, and it is through God's hand that they will truly be relieved. Prayer is the one tool that we can always use to fix or contribute to any cause. Take this as your opportunity to ask the Lord for His support for those in Haiti.
Prayer is not enough however, so please also give as much as you can. At present, we have been advised by the Red Cross in Trinidad and Tobago that clothing and linens are not as necessary as food, water, and money are.

"The American Red Cross does not accept or solicit small, individual donations of items for emergency relief purposes. Small items such as collections of food, used clothing, and shoes often must be cleaned, sorted, and repackaged which impedes the valuable resources of money, time, and personnel that are needed for other aspects of our relief operation. The Red Cross, in partnership with other agencies, suggests that the best use for those types of donations is to support needy agencies within donors' local communities. The best way to help a disaster victim is through a financial donation to the American Red Cross. Financial contributions allow the Red Cross to purchase exactly what is needed for the disaster relief operation. Monetary donations also enable the Red Cross to purchase relief supplies close to the disaster site which avoids delays and transportation costs in getting basic necessities to disaster victims. Because the affected community has generally experienced significant economic loss, purchasing relief supplies in or close to the disaster site also helps to stimulate the weakened local economy."
