Mixing Ministry With Adventure

You've seen the posts! You've heard the buzz....there's a new online show that has many in awe at what Jason Bachew and youths of Faith Assembly's aka Freedom Generation (F.G) are doing on various excursions.

Cleverly thought out and introduced to what was firstly for the Freedom Generation youth alone, it has expanded to youth nation wide. The new medium of spreading the Gospel has dared youth to be bold, adventurous nature lovers, that can grow a love for clean fun in sweet fellowship while being impacted by words of wisdom shared by some of the leaders such as Jason Bachew, Rebekah Fuentes, Paul Bachew, Lyndon Balkran and many others.

I have had the opportunity of being on one such adventure on Indian Arrival Day and must say that I have truly enjoyed the new faces and scenery that it offered. Being fairly new to how hiking works with the F.G posse, I just sat quietly and listened to the instructions given by leader Jason B.

When we arrived I was somewhat frightened at the fact it was getting later, that we were now beginning our hike and that there was nothing but tall trees, bush, bush and more bush!!! Valiantly the young men paired off with some females and assisted us through the bushes as they marked various trees with their cutlasses to site our way back.

After 10 quick minutes of hiking we came to the first of three pools. Sneakers were off as everyone dived into do our first set of shots for the show. Some plummeted from rocks others, like myself stood in awe and thought to myself, 'These yutes maddd!!!' We continued in the fun as we took underwater shots, and laughed at the guys that tried to out do one another in stunts.

The fun intensified as our bodies grew tiresome. In spite of as one would say 'THE RUGGED TERRAIN!!!!', we continued diligently to see what laid yonder. The scenery was just AWESOME! It took us all to a relaxed place and brought us peace of mind from constant ringing of phones, emails popping up ever so often, and having to engage in conversations of business and personal matters.

I saw fish swimming nearby, moss on the rocks, leaves scattered about, and noises of nature that reminded us that we were not alone. Bathing in three pools, falling in mud countless times and many laughs later we journeyed home by walking through the river and scaling the sides of the mountain in the dark.

My sneaker unstuck and I learned a new trick from a new friend. Victoria said when that happens take the lace from the bottom of the tongue and bring that loop under the sole of the shoe. Ladies and gentlemen it worked like magic till I reached the top. We endured painful bites from tiny beasts, got poked about, nearly stumbled upon logs in the dark as the guys made monkey noises till we met the vehicles.

The evening went well as we headed on our way home.... and ate Japs to our heart's delight. Ahhhh it was a great day. I admonish you all to be part of the Facebook group (J and Friends Aventures) and be part of the movement..., 'cause you know WE DOH PLAY!!! WOI WOI

  • Esther James John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

When Jesus was on earth, a woman caught in the act of adultery was brought before Him by the scribes and Pharisees, the religious mafia of His day. They tried to trap Him by posing a question that was difficult to answer: "Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?" (John 8:5)

Jesus answered, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." (John 8:7) The scribes and Pharisees began to leave one by one till none of them were left.

The people in the crowd who wanted to condemn the woman could not. But Jesus, the only one in the crowd who truly had the power to condemn her, would not. He then asked her, "Woman... Has no one condemned you?" (John 8:10)

He spoke such words of grace to her because He loved her. Also, by asking her the question, He was giving her a chance to speak words of no condemnation to herself - "No one [condemns me], Lord." (John 8:11)

Jesus not only spoke words of grace to her, He also gave her the gift of no condemnation - "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more". It was when she received the gift of no condemnation that she had the power to "go and sin no more".

Today, you have the gift of no condemnation because the Son of God was condemned for all your sins. (Romans 8:1) Today, God cannot condemn you when you sin because He is faithful and just to what His Son has done.

So if the devil tries to convince you that God is angry with you when you blow it, just say, "God does not condemn me today because He has already condemned Jesus at the cross 2,000 years ago!"

Unfortunately, we still hear people saying, "Go and sin no more first, then I won't condemn you." Maybe you have been saying this to yourself too. But God says, "I don't condemn you. Go and sin no more." He gives you the gift of no con-demnation, so that you have the strength to go and sin no more!

    Thought For The Day
