If you haven’t already heard of them, the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students is a vibrant and very much ‘alive’ community of students from all over the world who have chosen to carry the great commission with them on campus. Every year World Student Day brings together students from all over the world to pray into situations that are affecting students. This year World Student Day happens on Friday 21st October.

Things you can pray for
If you’re a student pursuing tertiary education nowadays you’ll know very about the issue that plague us, from the sometimes ungodly workloads, to poor administration, to woefully ineffective leaders and of course the looming danger of an unstable global economy. At this time it is absolutely imperative that we as student and as children of God be fully aware of what happening, and when I say that, I’m not only talking about what you see in the news, but be fully aware of what God is doing in your context.
For example, why is He allowing you to face certain challenges and how you are required to respond to them. It is more important to know what God wants you to a situation than knowing what you’re up against [Matt. 14:22-33].
Also pray that God raises up leaders in our institutions. Leaders who see their positions as a responsibility instead of a privilege, leaders who are selfless and will work for the benefit of the students (the institution's chief stakeholders), and leaders who choose to follow God instead of those who choose to dominated by the pressures of their environment, and their own selfish desires.
Of course it would be wise to pray for our good success. Pray that we as children of God, learn to collaborate with Him to grasp concepts, remember what you’ve learnt, and of course what His solution to th problems are.
Finally we should pray that each and every last one of us lives as perfect representation of Him on campus, so that through us others may get to know Him.
How you can get involved
For starters you can pray for the event. You can pray that the Holy Spirit guides and directs all those who participate and give them insight into what they should be praying for. You can also help to spread the word about this event to your prayer groups etc. You can even stay up-to-date by via facebook (http://www.facebook.com/worldstudentday) and twitter (@worldstudentday), and view the web stream on http://ifesworld.org/resources/worldstudentday between 10:30 (BST) - 09:30 (UTC).
