When I first began the thought process of writing this article I rather smugly thought I had it all together. Little miss "I prayed and Jesus took those feelings away" started to become my demeanor. Every time I messed up or even thought of doing it, revelation would come and the matter would be settled. Who was to know that writing this would teach me a thing or two?

There is a mentality that must be addressed
Redressed, scales taken off and truth revealed
For it is something that has taken over societies
Led our steps and brought on shifts in our very sense of self
Being single is a sin

So our airwaves overflow with shows that cause girls to lust for their prince that is true
Provoking an ability to be kissed before one turns thirteen
Oh how does love awaken so soon?
Mind cannot stand the test of the heart aches that pursue
But she is told do it if you feel
It’s a normal part of life
And instead of early coming to the cross
She learns early what it means to be an intimate possessor
Possessed by sex and the lust that flames
Wonder why relationships shake
Why this habit is hard to break
But what causes fights and battles among you?
Don’t they not come from the desires that war within you?

A losing war as she is not submitted to the cross
All because to be single is a sin
Yes I said it again
It is a sin

Because the moral conduct of this day and age is to love pleasure than God
Having a form of godliness and denying the power thereof.
But instead of turning away from this as 2 Timothy says
The church has embraced this twisted plan

But wasn’t our purpose to teach
To lead
Not cower in the fete?

So now our boys find their worth in conquests
And the shapeliness of their pecks to impress
All for the joy of someday finding the one
But with more profane slurs hidden in between
Like enjoying Ms. Right Now
And we have encouraged this!

Instead of teaching godliness principles of the eternity of love
And the pleasure found when the art of wait is embraced
We have paid for shows
Where kissing is inevitable
Where the height of the scenes
Is baby making routines
And then we wonder why we are close
To becoming like Sodom and Gomorrah
Soon to be burnt and why again I scream
To be single has to be a sin!

Virginity is obscene and obsolete
A starring attraction at the circus though
Our own modern day freak show
And purity in heart, mind, body and soul
Is seen as utterly naïve

When the word says that purity will cause true sight to be revealed
We will gaze upon the almighty
But this form is not a fashion
Seems to be a misapprehension
Like in 2 Timothy 3:13 that we will proceed from bad to worse
Deceiving and being deceived
Why is it that when we are not of this world
We model in their fashion show?

Why is it that when we are supposed to be ambassadors sent from the world above
Pronouncing legislation and tearing down false powers to nought
We live out
Give in
Submit
To their sin
And walk around
Chickens without a head
Can I get a new mentality please?
Being single may feel like a desert
But like a cactus
Only the tough stand in the adverse
