Today is a very special one for all mothers the world over as they are lavished with gifts, gourmet foods, bountiful roses of reds and pink, new perfumes, hey maybe even new weave; all in the sake of saying ‘Mummy I love you.’
We don’t think twice when it comes to blessing her on this special day, 'cause as we think back on the days where she has been selfless, caring, nurtured and groomed us to the young men and women we are today. Honestly gifts can’t measure the gratitude and appreciation that we have toward them.
Mothers come of all different sorts, young, old, biological and those that have taken you under your wing when your real mum has been gone out of the picture, the fact remains that they all love you the same. I for one, have my biological mother and many other mothers that have adopted me in the faith and treated me like their own.
It’s because of their prayers, there tete a tetes; sharing words of advice and re-asurement that I’m the strong willed woman that I am today. When it comes to my real mother however, I have learnt what being a virtuous, classy and faithful woman is all about.
She’s truly a blessing in my life and have left in so many times of my life lessons, virtues and indeed legacies by which I should live by. She has been a faithful wife, caring mother, philanthropist, advisor, pastor’s wife, diligent, studious, hard working and a financial guru when it came to stretching a dollar. God has entrusted in her care four daughter of which she continues to look after like they are her baby chicks.
Yes my mother, like many others may have experienced a shocking twist of events where she falls into the bracket of ‘single parent’ yet her persistence levels doesn’t drop. To mothers who are holding don’t the fort I applaud you. God’s grace, His strength and his mighty hand of blessing has been upon you thus far making you a force to be reckoned with.
Mummy, mama, moms, mother, whatever you may call her, she’s the reason where we are here today, she didn’t choose to abort you and has kept you as the apple of her eye. Happy Mothers Day mum! We love and appreciate you for being who you are. God bless you
