A friend of mine posted that status to Facebook recently. It comes from Matthew 5, and is a simple verse. I clicked "Like" without thinking, and moved on. I was glad to hear this person in particular quoting the bible, but didn't make an issue of it.
Then I saw this tonight, as I logged in to Facebook again. I don't think I have to describe it, but I do think that I needed to say something.
You don't always have to do much to impact a life. Sometimes, it's as simple as sharing a tract.
It's interesting to note that this person said that they don't read the bible. The only bible they read was that tract they got years ago. It may be the same that hte only bible someone may read is the piece you quoted - they read it off your words.
This is where we should note. The only way you can leave this with someone is by wanting to (and not being ashamed to) share the word of God with a friend. If you don't, or never do, you're withholding a blessing from them.
When you listen to Koen Duncan's song Shine High, I want you to remember that it also quotes Matthew Chapter 5. When he sings "Light [is] supposed to shine", he's speaking about this piece of scripture:
What do you do? Does YOUR light shine, other than doing good things? Are you working to fulfil the great commission? If not, you may never have someone say this and refer to you.
Even worse, you may lose the opportunity to see a friend give their life to the Lord. All because of the power of a simple act.

Our lights (LIVES) must shine and God MUST receive the glory.
This is really cool... I guess we're on the same page...
As you said (or I'm paraphrasing and going into my own words cuz I'm really sleepy rite now lol) something as simple as *liking* something [facebook terms here] can really let your little light shine and give encouragement for others to do the same...
It's like saying 'I WILL stand with you as you spread the word'... it's really cool, and I can relate to what u said
