Okay so Twilight has caused a stir again in many hearts of young girls and even the oldest cougars on the block, and I think to myself, ‘Why on earth are they so crazy over this pale looking dead man called Edward?’
It’s been long said that they ‘Vampires’ are nothing but mythological or folkloric beings who survive by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures, dead or alive!
Screech!!! Hold up! Blood drinkers are cool now? How could that ever be? Blood is the life of a person, and true life comes from Christ. So why are we marvelled at the creature that lives to take it away? In these very mythologies, these evil creatures are the ones that, by the author I must add, shun from the cross, hate light and murder. Hmmm tells me that I shouldn’t be fascinated by them from those three examples already.

However, Hollywood being what it is, has once again taken what is evil and not of good report and made him 6 ft 2, pale, oh apparently a type of vegetarian vampire that feeds on solely animals, rich, heroic and the nonsensical list goes on. We must learn to avoid these pitfalls and charming snares of the enemy. Remember 1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour
Satan wants to captivate us to love a being that murders, and is tall, looks good, can save you and fulfil some sexual desire. These movies have once again caused millions of girls and many gay men I’m sure to lust in many unthinkable ways. Here is what can manifest when we feed the flesh.
Gal 5:16-26 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

We as Christians should now take that time that we would have delved into a Twilight series and focus on God’s good news. For in Philippians 4:8 it says Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Let us remember that we cannot serve 2 masters. We must pledge our allegiance to Christ at all times and bring glory to His name. I admonish you movie fanatics as well to look beyond what’s there at face value. Ask God to reveal to you the hidden diabolical message within the shows. Seek His face, read His Word, and see God’s Spirit reveal things to you in the theatre. Do research if you have to, whatever it takes so that you won’t become enslaved by the enemy’s devices.
