Your Daily serving of Spam

spambook

In today's world, everyone has an opinion, a message and an agenda. Some for good and other to desecrate what is pure, lovely and of good report. As I've quoted that verse we all have learnt in Sunday school, let's look at it in it's entirety

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Most of us try to do the honorable and righteous thing of fleeing from lustful thinking and attempt  to renew our minds with the word of truth daily. However it seems as though spammers on Facebook have been making this harder for the easily swayed. Recently while conducting my regular business on the social networking site on work, there in my feed was an image of two naked ladies. That picture appeared in the most unlikely time when my manager, supervisors and senior staff was standing behind me. To make matters worse the servers were moving slowing so my PC was near frozen. (Sigh) I then adjusted my skinny body to try blocking the screen till it was scrolled out of sight and refreshed.

Throughout the day again while conducting my business I had to see images of gays engaging in anal sex, girl on girl action but the epitome of blasphemy was when an illustration of ‘Jesus doing Christ’ was pasted on the walls of several of my friends. I knew these persons wouldn't engage in that nonsense and I couldn't comprehend why the spam had taken over their profiles.

The imagery is there for the under aged to view as they too use Facebook and this causes a bit of concern for me. After seeing the images, our brains being the complex organ it is, once it has a visual of something it can pull it up at any random given time. One pastor continuously says the devil can always put thoughts in our minds. To give a better illustration let’s use birds. Birds can be thoughts that fly over our heads ever so often. Question is would you let the bird build a nest on head?

I know without a doubt not every Christian is so perfect that they are absolutely resistant to every sin and temptation that comes to lure us off track. From the minute that you see these pop ups you have a choice, hide the posts, or delete them and don’t click. For those that have began to look and have these thoughts festering in their minds, I implore you to STOP. Take stock and pray for help to stop. The Lord can help you.

It’s unfortunate that spamming is becoming more prevalent on Facebook with that kind of content but I think it’s only fair that we understand what it is that causes this distress. Let's get a little technical. What is the difference between a  virus and spam?

What is a VIRUS?

A program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. Viruses can also replicate themselves. All computer viruses are man made. A simple virus that can make a copy of itself over and over again is relatively easy to produce. Even such a simple virus is dangerous because it will quickly use all available memory and bring the system to a halt. An even more dangerous type of virus is one capable of transmitting itself across networks and bypassing security systems.

Some people distinguish between general viruses and worms. A worm is a special type of virus that can replicate itself and use memory, but cannot attach itself to other programs.

What is SPAM?

Electronic junk mail or junk newsgroup postings. Some people define spam even more generally as any unsolicited e-mail. Real spam is generally e-mail advertising for some product sent to a mailing list or newsgroup.

In addition to wasting people's time with unwanted e-mail, spam also eats up a lot of network bandwidth. Consequently, there are many organizations, as well as individuals, who have taken it upon themselves to fight spam with a variety of techniques. But because the Internet is public, there is really little that can be done to prevent spam, just as it is impossible to prevent junk mail. However, some online services have instituted policies to prevent spammers from spamming their subscribers.

Available Solutions?

In the event of clicking on the item purposefully or accidentally on Facebook, change your password IMMEDIATELY! Check the apps that you have recently allowed. Not everything you should signup for people!!!!

All in all we need to be careful of what we click, what we watch and what we allow into our systems be it with PC’s or our spiritual man. Be vigilant, be pure...

Do Battle in Twitter Fury

tweets-of-fury

I’m never bored at work. I have too much to do. Way too much. Recently, with some unfortunate events, I now have everything to do, which means that I will never be bored in the office.

At home is another story. I’m always bored when I’m at home. The television doesn’t really capture my attention too often, and with all the creating, directing, instructing, taking instructions and directions and of course, dealing with other people’s creations, I sometimes just want to have some good old fun.

Enter Tweets  of Fury.

I found this website through another link a colleague emailed me where you can do battle with your friends on Twitter and I laughed my head off at the prospects.

Here’s how it works

  1. tweet-furyChallenge your twitter buddies/enemies to a friendly battle.
  2. Face off in a best of three battle of Rock/paper/Scissors.
  3. The winner gets to send a tweet of their own to their victim’s twitter feed.

I think it can be hilarious. You tweet the rock/paper/scissors, and then after you decimate the other person, you get to tweet something as them? I wish it was “Facebook of Fury”. I’d love to beat up on some of my friends then post a status.

I’ll take the tweet however.

You see, I’d love to tweet some messages into the feeds of some people I know. People such as: DJ Livstrong (@djlivstrong), Tiko Angelos (@tikoangelos), Jadee (@jadeelive) and Shiselon (@shiselon).

Can you imagine what would happen if you got to beat up on your best friend? I’d personally love to deal with a few people who will remain nameless (for now).

Just know this. If you see a few people posting weird tweets, it was me. I beat them in Tweets of Fury!

If Only I Had, You had, The Whole World Had an i-Pad?!!

Mine eyes have beheld the splendor of the greatest device made by man. There it sat as I held within my arms; it was something that made my jaws drop, and looked at my reflection in the shiny screen. I was in disbelief of the moment that I was living in. With it's feathered weight body and sleek contours, I thought nothing else but 'WOW'! The i-Pad had me in awe!

Prey Project

Prey is a free and lightweight program that you can install on your laptop or mobile device that allows you to track its location anywhere in the world. Of course this means that if your beloved Android gets stolen you can get the location of the thief (or whoever is in possession of the machine) and deliver the gospel to him or of course just send the boys in blue to pay him a visit.

  • Esther James John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

When Jesus was on earth, a woman caught in the act of adultery was brought before Him by the scribes and Pharisees, the religious mafia of His day. They tried to trap Him by posing a question that was difficult to answer: "Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?" (John 8:5)

Jesus answered, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." (John 8:7) The scribes and Pharisees began to leave one by one till none of them were left.

The people in the crowd who wanted to condemn the woman could not. But Jesus, the only one in the crowd who truly had the power to condemn her, would not. He then asked her, "Woman... Has no one condemned you?" (John 8:10)

He spoke such words of grace to her because He loved her. Also, by asking her the question, He was giving her a chance to speak words of no condemnation to herself - "No one [condemns me], Lord." (John 8:11)

Jesus not only spoke words of grace to her, He also gave her the gift of no condemnation - "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more". It was when she received the gift of no condemnation that she had the power to "go and sin no more".

Today, you have the gift of no condemnation because the Son of God was condemned for all your sins. (Romans 8:1) Today, God cannot condemn you when you sin because He is faithful and just to what His Son has done.

So if the devil tries to convince you that God is angry with you when you blow it, just say, "God does not condemn me today because He has already condemned Jesus at the cross 2,000 years ago!"

Unfortunately, we still hear people saying, "Go and sin no more first, then I won't condemn you." Maybe you have been saying this to yourself too. But God says, "I don't condemn you. Go and sin no more." He gives you the gift of no con-demnation, so that you have the strength to go and sin no more!

    Thought For The Day

You have the gift of no condemnation because the Son of God was condemned for all your sins.
